• Weekdays: 1:00 PM – 8:00 PM
• Weekends: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM

OPEN STUDIO POLICY
To ensure a smooth experience for all and to keep track of visitor flow, we now require all visitors to check in and out when using the studio during open studio hours.

• Upon Arrival: Please check in by logging your name and time of entry at the designated check-in/out board before starting your session.
• Before Departure: Remember to check out by recording your departure time.
• Multi-week class students are welcome to use the studio during open studio hours for independent practice. Students should have prior experience and are required to inform an instructor before their first use of the space.
• We may request proof of participation in a multi-week class, whether taken at our studio or elsewhere.

CANCELLATION POLICY

• To cancel a class, please email us at info@studiocalmplex.com.
• For cancellations made more than 7 days before the class start date, you will receive a full refund.
• Cancellations within 7 days of the class start date are eligible for a 50% refund.
• For one-day classes, a full refund is available if canceled at least 24 hours in advance.
• No refunds are available once the class has begun.
• In the rare case that a class does not meet the minimum of 3 participants, we reserve the right to cancel it one week in advance.

MAKE-UP CLASSES

• If you miss a class, please email us at info@studiocalmplex.com to inquire about make-up opportunities. We allow only one make-up class per student.
• While we will do our best to accommodate, make-up sessions are subject to availability, and we cannot guarantee placement in future sessions.
FIRING DEADLINES FOR STUDENTS

• All students, even those continuing into the next term, must submit their work for firing by the deadlines below:
• One week before the last week of class: All work must be prepared for bisque firing.
• Last week of class: All pieces must be submitted for glaze firing.

CLASS ATTENDANCE & TIMELINESS
Given the hands-on nature of our classes, late arrivals are asked to seamlessly integrate into the session to maintain the class flow and minimize disruptions. To ensure a smooth and comfortable start, we recommend arriving 5–10 minutes early.

GLAZE ROOM ETIQUETTE

• Handle glaze buckets with care to avoid splashing and cross-contamination.
• We recommend a maximum dip of 3 seconds and limiting to two glazes per piece, unless you’ve tested the combination or have prior experience.
• Consult with our staff before glazing the bottom of your work to ensure it aligns with your design.
• Always leave your workspace clean for the next person.
• Check your surroundings—walls, tools, tables, and floor—to ensure everything is tidy and in place.
EQUIPMENT TRAINING

If you are unfamiliar with any equipment (extruders, slab rollers, etc.), feel free to ask our staff for guidance. Safety and proper use are our priorities.
FIRING NOTICE

• Your work will typically be ready for pickup on the bisque or finished work shelves within 3 weeks, though this timeline may vary due to studio workflow or kiln schedules.
• Studio Calmplex is not liable for any damages or imperfections that may occur during the creative process. However, if your piece is damaged while under our care, please visit our office to initiate the refund process.
PICK-UP POLICY

• Glazed work will be held on the finished work shelves for up to two months after unloading. Any unclaimed work will be donated or discarded after this period.
• Any bisqueware left at the studio beyond two weeks into the next semester will also be donated or discarded.
POTTERY TOOLS

• All necessary tools are provided for one-day classes.
• Tools are available for purchase in the studio for multi-week students.
STUDIO CLEANING

• Please clean your workspace after each session, including your wheel, basin, stool, the floor around your wheel, and any communal tools used.
• If using common areas (handbuilding tables, glaze room, spray booth, etc.), ensure the space is clean and organized when you leave.
• Use a wet sponge for cleanup to avoid creating hazardous clay dust. Please finish cleaning 15 minutes before closing time.
FOOD & DRINKS

• No food is permitted in the studio area.
• Drinks with lids are allowed.
SANDING SAFETY

If your piece requires sanding, please consult with our staff. Only wet sanding is permitted; dry sanding is strictly prohibited.
OUTSIDE CLAY & GLAZES

If you wish to use any outside clay or glazes, please ask for staff approval. We strongly recommend using our cone 5–6 clay or slip to ensure compatibility with studio glazes.

Members and students voluntarily assume any risk of injury or accidents while using the studio or equipment. Please prioritize your safety and that of others.

• Do not use or handle others’ personal items or tools without permission.
